Good job, and fun stuff!

Read a similar post a few weeks ago from a woman who has made a habit of doing something similar with their kids -- buying extra groceries and finding a homeless person to share them with. Part of their goal was to make the unloved feel special, that someone cares.

I don't normally leave links to other posts on people's blogs, but I think you'll like this one, Chelan (though you might want the kleenex handy):

Chelan,
Watching and praying for you in the midst of that whole time was so hard. I was angry at you for staying and mad at him for leaving. But you had a faith and a trust in God alone that I didn't want to understand. In time, God showed ME that I needed to forgive you both. So thankful that God helped me to do it. It let you both out of the boxes that I had you in inside my mind and God set you free. He brought healing, hope, new life and deep love and trust.
I am honored to call you my friend. You have been an example of staying true to your promise even when circumstances and others (myself included) said you shouldn't.
We've both had our trials (& I'm guessing they won't stop till we see Jesus) in life. Thank you for trusting Jesus to heal your brokenness.
Thank you Ricky for choosing life, for choosing Jesus over the lies and for choosing your wife.
You guys are precious.

Chelan......Thank you for sharing such a heart felt and deeply touching part of your life. As I look back on those days, I can now understand more of what you two were going through. For people who think that God intends for us to lead happy never troubled lives are still in the dark. He did say He would go through those dark times with us and this grows our faith as no other thing can do. You and Ricky are such an example of God's grace and mercy. Blessings to you and your beautiful family. Love you.

Love it. I'm doing a devotional that isn't about just talking to God, but about being silent and LISTENING. It's so easy to just talk and tell him my laundry list then end the prayer without waiting for a reply. (I think he likes to hear about the laundry list, but wants the chance to talk too.)
