What would happen if day ran into night?

Just a thought… what if every day just ran continually into the next? What if there was no night to separate the day? Would we all have discipline to get the sleep we need – the right amount at the right time? Would we ever be rejuvinated? refreshed? feel as sense of accomplishment? or hope for a 2nd chance or new beginning?

I, for one, am so unbelievable grateful that God spoke light into the darkness so that we were not in darkness 24/7. Light is GOOD! …and also that we have darkness every night. I can wind down & reflect. I can sleep. I can dream. I can revel in quietness & wonder what plans of a hopeful future He has for me, yet.

Zephaniah 3:5 (New International Version)

 5 The LORD within her is righteous;
       he does no wrong.
       Morning by morning he dispenses his justice,
       and every new day he does not fail

But most importantly, I can  rest in the knowledge that tomorrow is a NEW day. This day is near its end, and what’s done is done and cannot be un-done. but tomrrow…tomorrow is another story, untold. A chance to walk a path uncharted, take a risk, say i’m sorry and accept forgiveness. To look forward to 12-16 hrs of choices I can make -big or small, friendships I can impact – deep or shallow. Tomorrow is not yet here & may not come at all, but if it does, i’m living it for my God, who spoke it into exsistence. Every place I turn, I’ll have a chance to see His face or hear His soft voice.

Isaiah 48:17-18 (New Living Translation)

17 This is what the Lord says—
      your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
   “I am the L
ord your God,
      who teaches you what is good for you
      and leads you along the paths you should follow.

18 Oh, that you had listened to my commands!
      Then you would have had peace flowing like a gentle river
      and righteousness rolling over you like waves in the sea.

As darkness falls, and then my head falls on a soft  pillow tonight, I may have some regrets from the day. But REST assured, I have tomorrow to look forward to.

Lamentations 3:22-24 (New International Version)

 22 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed,
       for his compassions never fail.

 23 They are new every morning;
       great is your faithfulness.

 24 I say to myself, “The LORD is my portion;
       therefore I will wait for him.”

He has big plans for me. I can’t wait.
